God’s power operates exclusively within the parameters of the Cross. (1 Cor. 1:18)
It is where the Spirit of Grace has his latitude. Paul, the apostle of grace, determined to know nothing else.
Yet to religion, Paul’s faith was not only foolish but shameful. Why? Because the idea of simple trust in the success of the Cross left no room for human effort or religious merit.
Paul held his ground. He was resolute and unashamed.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.” (Rom. 1:16)
